It is difficult to observe heavily reddened regions in UV absorption lines, which limits their usefulness for studying dense clouds (EB_ v 0.5). The small number of targets generally limits the amount of spatial information that can be derived. Target stars generally must be of suitable spectral type, preferably with high rotation velocities, to avoid confusion with stellar lines. However, they are subject to many restrictions. In addition, they provide distance limits on the material and give information on the velocity structure, density, and inhomogeneity. Absorption lines give direct measure ments of the column densities of a variety of molecules and many elements in a number of ionization stages. In the case of preamps or console emulations, these 2 parameters are just like "the best settings" so just forget about them (*only in the case of preamps and console emulations*).ītw, you can find more free (demo) programs here: One thing that has me scratching my head is why the preamps have attack and release times.ĭon't move them. If you have more questions just send me a pm or write here ) with Nebula you just have one EQ band at a time).

Anyways, give it a go and try it for a couple of weeks but bear in mind you're just hearing a 10% of the "real thing", so to speak.īy the way, Nebula's a workflow killer, it will slow you down a lot but you'll get used to it if you really care about "quality" (it's a workflow killer because it adds a lot of latency which means it takes a lot of CPU cycles and its equalizers are "one band" only so don't expect a full featured equalizer with tons of bands. I use it mostly for its equalizers which are, in my opinion, the best things you'll hear in the digital world (and dear God, I've looked for some "lighter" replacements but it's like noone really cares about making great sounding EQ's anymore). Nebula's consoles and EQ's sound darn good (tapes sound great as well). Some of the programs you'll find there sound very good and they're actually (some of them) like demo versions of those libraries I mentioned before. Anyways, the thing is you'll be able to hear a bit of what Nebula really is with this free version. There are 3rd party developers who spend a LOT of time sampling great stuff but those libraries will only work on Nebula's commercial versions (and of course, you have to pay for them but they're cheap, in my opinion).

This free version sucks big time because it only shows a 10% or so what Nebula is capable of. Yeah, it's the best thing after sliced bread! hehe No, seriously, the plug-in sounds very good. Remove the plug-in and insert it again: check if everything's like you set it up. After all these changes, click on SAVE (right top corner). I'd change it to 2048 if you have a powerful computer (i5, i7). This should allow you to convert programs to your project sample rate (some devices are sampled at 44.1kHz so if you work at 48kHz or higher sample rates this option will convert these programs to your project sample rate which will make them sound much better). Now, do you see the parameter RATE CNV? OK, change it to 7.000ms or more. This should allow you to load programs with long tails like reverbs, etc., in a proper way.

Do you see the parameter *L FREQD? OK, select it and change it (same second knob from left to right) to 7.000s or more. This should enable the "GURU" mode where you can configure some settings. Select "Mode" and move the second slider from left to right. If you click on "MAST", you'll see a page displaying the version number, mode, meters, etc. I'd just forget about that Nebula3Free and just use the Nebula3Free Reverb version since that one is optimized for mixing and stuff (it also uses multithreading much better). Bear in mind that "low" latency in Nebula's land doesn't really mean "low" heh. Nebula3Free is optimized for "low" latency. One is Nebula3Free, the other Nebula3Free Reverb. I'm not sure what the difference is in the two plugins.
